Mumbai native: Sandunes (Sanaya Ardeshir) is known for her diverse blend of electronica which combines jazz rooted, eclectic sensibilities with progressive electronic elements.

Her upbringing as a pianist and keyboard player allows her to create emotive beds of sound pertaining to an indie electronica/dance music space- a fusion of London inspired ingredients tied together with a unique south asian feel.

 

Her work has been recognised by international and local indie and nu culture tastemakers-- VH1 India, Border Movement, The Wild City, Inner Soul Music, Vogue, Platform Magazine, Homegrown, The Big M, Roundhouse radio(UK), RadioEletrica(Brazil), Radio one(In) and in 2013 she was also featured as an artist to watch for in Rolling Stone Magazine.

Red Bull's 'Bedroom Producers' series- which focuses on upcoming artists from the Indian realm shot a film about her creative process. Other publications like Forbes life, Elle, GQ, Grazia, Soundtree Magazine have also covered her work.

 

Sandunes also plays synth in the popular electronic/rock outfit- the Dualist Inquiry Band alongside Sahej Bakshi(Dualist Inquiry) and RBMA alumni + beat poet- Jivraj Singh. She collaborated with legendary Indian rock band- Indus Creed in 2013 as part of Fox's 'Sound trek' - a series documenting musical collaborations.
Other collaborations include live and studio projects with Paralights, Squidworks, OX7GEN and EZRiser.
Sandunes has also opened for acts like J.Viewz, Michel Menert, Koan Sound, and Dualist Inquiry, as part of large stages at the NH7 Weekenders, and Bass Camp festivals in India. Other festivals played at include Magnetic Fields Festival(IN), Germany's Fusion Festival, Pettah Interchange (SL), Sunburn Festival(IN), and Aamby Valley's Enchanted Valley Carnival(IN).

 

In 2013, Sandunes released 'Ever Bridge'- an independent art and music project for which she worked with several graphic artists and designers from different disciplines to portray subjectivity and interpretive freedoms within music. She worked with stage production and 3D mapping wizards- Wolves, to develop an audio-visual concept with which she toured the country to promote the album.

Sandunes attended the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy- Bass Camp held in Dubai in 2013.

 

She is currently signed to Krunk- India's largest alternative booking agency and tours the country regularly as a live performer- with an intelligent and engaging live set that incorporates organic synth playing + new technology using various pieces of musical and multimedia tools.

She is due to release a few EPs in the course of 2014, hand in hand with immersive A.V experiences for the live aspect of her music.
